Football, tennis, music, drama, mathematics, and science all shape the foundation.
Dr Pants began as a character in the fall of 2004 at Kansas State University. The nickname Pants took hold after he became a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, where the name became familiar to friends, family, and students.
That chapter connected him to a national SAE tradition whose notable alumni include former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Richard B. Myers, President William McKinley, Nobel Prize-winning author William Faulkner, NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman, and actor-comedian David Spade.
Behind the name was an all-around scholar-athlete: a high performer in football and tennis who also found success in music, drama, and scholastics. High achievement in mathematics and science led to the pursuit of degrees in chemistry, biology, and mathematics at KSU.
After four years at KSU studying and teaching biology and chemistry, he went on to earn his doctorate at the University of Kansas, graduating magna cum laude with distinction. The same pattern-seeking mindset later turned toward trading, prediction, and the mathematics behind fast-moving platforms.
Alpha Pants Worldwide carries that spirit into model building today. A small team with similar interests and ambitions works with people who have strong ideas and need a disciplined process to test, refine, and scale them. His family and friends still call him Dr Pants.
